Part B – Question 5

Now you are going to apply what you have learned in class. As per the class discussion, please provide me  with three different headlines for the story (article in Question #4) and outline your reasoning(s) and  explanation for each. Please ensure you base your answer on the different elements of headlines we spoke  about in class. Please  go into detail for each. (12 Marks)

  1. AI based food pricing the next innovation? Burger King Answers

This headline is a headline that poses a question. In this case, is AI-based food pricing the next innovation? This is relevant to the actual article because the content in the article is based on Wendy’s new AI model for their pricing. As discussed in class, implementing a question in a headline gives benefits to the article. One of them is that it encourages curiosity. This is a benefit for the headline because by creating a sense of urgency, it invites the reader to read more, therefore increasing the viewership of the article.

2. Discover how Burger King is Fighting Against AI Pricing

In this headline, I put more focus on the use of powerful words. The power word that I used in this article is, “Discover”. This is relevant to the article because by reading the article, you will be able to find out what Burger King is doing to fight back against AI prices from Wendy’s. As discussed in class, utilizing powerful words in your headline is beneficial for the article. Adding power words to this headline is a viable option because they will entice the reader to further read the headlines.

3. Warning: AI begins to manipulate fast food prices. What you can do to save money

In this classic formula, the main highlight is that I used the word, “Warning” as the first word in the headline. The purpose of implementing this idea is to grab the user’s attention on the headline at first glance and I think that it does it effectively. Since users scan headlines quickly, seeing as how the first word in the headline is key it will create urgency to continue reading the rest of the headline. One reason this is the case is because  “Warning” is the first word the user will see and it will create a sense of urgency for the reader. As such, they will be more inclined to read the headline
